Hello! I’m Claire Paul, a self-employed psychology professional and accredited life coach and hypnotherapist, dedicated to helping individuals achieve positive and lasting change.
I combine a range of evidence-based approaches, including Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBT), NLP and Hypnotherapy.

Since the late 1980s, I have been interested in positive psychology and personal development. I have used many evidence-based self-help techniques to improve my own life.
Inspired by this journey, I now help others do the same.

Where appropriate I will use an aroma diffuser during sessions. I will select essential oils specifically for you to balance, harmonise and promote your physical and psychological health and wellbeing. I also use a SAD light during sessions for Seasonal Affective Disorder during the winter.

A bit more about me
Ever since I can remember I have been interested in Psychology and various psychological techniques which help people move forward. In 2000 I completed an MSc in Occupational Psychology at Cardiff University. At the beginning of my career as a psychology professional I practiced relaxation therapy with people suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Since the early 1990's I have gained:
- Experience as a psychology professional in and outside of the workplace
- Experience of the value of hypnotherapy and NLP
- Expertise as a personal and professional coach
- Experience in recruitment and development of young professionals

I regularly commit to ongoing professional development to ensure my clients receive modern, evidence-based support.
As a coach, I believe personal growth is just as important. I use self-coaching daily and work with other professionals to complement my practice. Being coached sparks my motivation and helps me reach my goals faster. It also gives me fresh insights into my own journey.
In addition, I rely on a mix of hypnotherapy, breathwork, and mindfulness to keep me moving forward. By using these physical and meditative techniques, I maintain a positive mindset and stay resilient. This practice is essential; it clears the path for progress and ensures I show up as my best self, both personally and professionally.

What background experience, skills, and strengths do I personally bring?
I have experience of the following life transitions:
- Becoming a Mum of two
- Commitment to studying whilst working to complete my Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Mentoring, Reiki, ability and personality assessment qualifications
- Determination to find an alternative to corporate life which matched my values
- Rising above bullying in the workplace and overcoming low self-esteem
- Coping with the threat of redundancy and low morale in the workplace
- Overcoming relationship issues
- Travelling around the world for a year
- Coping with the sudden loss of my Dad in the final year of University

A lot of these experiences have been facilitated by coaching. Through getting results in these various situations I really developed a strong belief in the power of coaching.
My first and most powerful experience was when I had no manager at work and was also facing potential redundancy. When my self-esteem was at its lowest, coaching helped me regain control. I stopped thinking like a victim and became aware of the negative habits that undermined my confidence.
